A Weekend Full of Sports

This weekend was full of sports as we had baseball practice on Friday night, Soccer on Saturday morning and a baseball game on Saturday afternoon. The boys were pretty worn out by Saturday evening so we had a low key dinner and hung out at home. Here are some pics from their activities.

This was Kyson's first baseball game. The little ones out there were so entertaining. There was a girl on the other team he knew from school and he kept flirting with her when he was on the field. it was adorable.

Breckin has been doing very well at soccer this year. You can see the thought processes taking place on the field with the kids as our season progresses and it makes me happy as a coach to be able to teach them that.

The last most exciting thing we did this weekend is watching my sister run. A few weeks ago she ran the Bentonville half marathon and on Sunday she ran her first Hogeye half marathon. I could not be more proud of her. Brian was injured so he had to sit this one out but we all headed down to Fayetteville on Sunday morning to see Abby cross the finish line. She did such an amazing job. The weather conditions were not very favorable with the wind and the storms headed this way but she finished the race before the rain came. We are so proud of you Abby!!!

Here she is coming up the last hill before the square.

Waving to Kyson and Breckin who were cheering her on.

Getting ready to cross the finish line.

Abby, Liz and Mary after the race. Liz and Mary ran the 5K.

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter Weekend! We started out with the Easter Carnival at the Sam's Club Home Office where they boys had so much fun playing games and getting candy and prizes. We were even able to see the Easter Bunny!

We had an easy day Saturday and Saturday night we decorated eggs. They boys loved being able to paint the eggs instead of waiting for them to dye.

On Sunday morning the boys woke up to their Easter baskets.

Then we attended church at Grace Point and I heard one of the best Easter sermons I have heard in a long time. After church we headed to Pryor to have lunch with my mom's side of the family. The boys had so much fun hanging out with each other and playing. There were 7 boys under the age of 8 and it gets pretty wild sometimes.

The older kids hid eggs for the little ones and it was fun to see them run around the yard gathering eggs.

This is probably the only pictures I will ever post of me 8 months pregnant but I couldn't help it because of these rare oppertunities we have to take pictures with all of us together.

After we visited with my mom's family we headed down to Chouteau, OK to see my Grandpa and Grandma Smith. It was so good to sit and visit with them and catch up. We got a great picture of all the boys with my Dad and his Dad. It was a great ending to a great weekend!

HWCEC Easter Egg Hunt

Now that Kyson has moved up it is fun to see how they all understand the egg hunting process! All the kids were so adorable and there were so many eggs that their buckets were full and we had to get sacks to finish gathering all the eggs. I am so fortunate that I have a job that allows me to take time off to enjoy these events before my kids get too old to do these fun things.

We went outside and the kids started lined up at the fence waiting patiently until they heard the word go.

He was smart and went to the edge of the playground where there were no kids and his basket was full pretty quickly.

He and his little friend Anika were checking out their eggs.

I love events like this! My little guy is growing up way too fast.

First Easter Egg Hunt of the Season

Yesterday was a busy day for us. After the half marathon we went to lunch with my parents and then came home to rest for a bit. The city was doing an Easter Egg Hunt at Orchard's Park sponsored by Hershey's so the boys and I headed up there to check it out. It was pretty hot but the boys had a good time. Kyson's group was first to go. There were a lot of people and a lot of eggs.

Breckin's group was next to get eggs and he ended up getting a lot.

After hunting eggs we waited in line to get face painting done. They were both super patient since the line was so long.

Breckin chose a lightening bolt on his arm and Kyson got OU on his face. Even with the heat and the big crowd we still had a great time!

Bentonville Half Marathon

The day had finally arrived and we were ready to go watch Brian and Abby complete their first half marathon. They had a cheering section. My parents came, Dean and Wendy were there and Liz and her sister were there plus the boys and I. We were super proud to see them turn that corner and head toward the finish line!

The boys were so good for the two hours we waited at the finish line. Of course it might have helped that we took a trip to Harps to get donuts while we waited.

The boys with the signs they made and the finishers! So proud of you guys! You did a great job on your first half marathon!
